Readers will be captivated by the further adventures
of Constantine, the endearing Toucan bird with the
rainbow-coloured beak. After escaping from a ship,
Constantine finds himself on a small beautiful island
in the Caribbean Sea where he's welcomed by an old
man who lives by himself and has no friends. Over the
summer children from the village visit the old man and
play games with the Toucan, but once school starts
thier visits end.

The old man sees that Constantine is unhappy, that he
misses the children, and decides to leave the Toucan
at Neville's house in the village so the bird can be near
his young friends. When Neville goes off to school,
Constantine begins to explore his new surroundings and
gets himself in a packet of trouble!
